Back To School: Founders Group International Offers Coastal Students, Faculty Special Discounted Rates
Founders Group International (FGI) is going back to school in its efforts to grow the game of golf.
Myrtle Beach’s premier golf course ownership group, FGI is offering Coastal Carolina University students and faculty special savings at its 21 courses as part of a newly launched “CCU Plays Golf” program.
Included among FGI’s family of courses are Burning Ridge, World Tour, Wild Wing Avocet (top photo) and the three Myrtle Beach National layouts, including King’s North, all of which are in close proximity to Coastal’s campus.
Coastal students and faculty can book tee times for themselves and up to three guests at special discounted rates during the afternoon hours. Tee times can be reserved up to three days in advance and must be booked online.
“We have many Coastal Carolina alumni working at Founders Group International, so we are excited to introduce current students, faculty and family to the game,” said Karen Altman, FGI’s director of marketing and a CCU alum. “One of the benefits of attending Coastal Carolina is its location here in the Golf Capital of the World, and hopefully the ‘CCU Plays Golf’ program will encourage students and faculty to begin playing golf, a game they can enjoy for a lifetime.”
In addition to the courses closest to Coastal, students and faculty can also play the Palmetto and PineHills courses at Myrtlewood Golf Club, Pine Lakes Country Club, Aberdeen Country Club, Colonial Charters Golf Club, Long Bay Golf Club, River Hills Golf Club, Founders Club, Litchfield Country Club, Pawleys Plantation, River Club, TPC Myrtle Beach, Tradition Club and Willbrook Plantation.
Students and faculty are required to show a university ID.

FGI also participates in Myrtle Beach’s “Kids Play Free” program, allowing children 16 and under to play for free when accompanied by a paying adult.
