Founders Group International Names Corey Bowers Head Professional At World Tour Golf Links
Founders Group International has named Corey Bowers the new head professional at World Tour Golf Links, one of the company’s most popular layouts.
Bowers, who has worked in the industry for 10 years, comes to World Tour after serving as the head golf professional at Long Bay Club and Aberdeen Country Club from 2020-2022, leading the North Strand properties to record years. Bowers will be responsible for all facets of day-to-day operations at World Tour, ensuring the layout retains its place near the top of the Myrtle Beach market.
A 2010 graduate of Gannon University, Bowers was a college wresting and golf coach for two years at Mercyhurst University before moving to Myrtle Beach in pursuit of a fulltime career in the golf industry. Bowers began his career working the bag drop at Founders Club and quickly advanced, taking over as head pro at the Pawleys Island layout in 2015.
“Corey Bowers is a perfect fit for World Tour, one of our best and most acclaimed courses,” said Matt Daly, FGI’s director of golf operations. “He has a tremendous work ethic and is a great leader. One of our goals at FGI is to promote from within and people like Corey help make those decisions easy ones.”
World Tour is an 18-hole property that replicates golf’s most famous holes. From Amen Corner at Augusta National to the Old Course at St. Andrews and No 17 at TPC Sawgrass, the property takes golfers around the golf world in 18 holes.
Bowers succeeded Brad Crumling, who became FGI’s Regional Operations Manager for its north end courses.
