Grande Dunes Resort Course is one of Founders Group International’s crown jewels, offering a public golf experience that ranks among the best in South Carolina.
Designed by Roger Rulewich, the course features five holes along the Intracoastal Waterway—delivering the coastal views golfers come to Myrtle Beach to enjoy. Since opening in 2001, Grande Dunes has been a Grand Strand favorite. A major renovation in 2022 has helped ensure it stays that way.
FGI launched a full-scale renovation of the greens, bunkers, and clubhouse. The project earned rave reviews. Architect John Harvey—who helped design the original course—led the restoration. Greens were returned to their original size and specs, expanding them by more than 33%. The larger surfaces create more pin locations and improve conditions by spreading out foot traffic. Every bunker was rebuilt, and Capillary Concrete Bunker Liners were added. These upgrades boosted playability and drainage. The clubhouse renovation was just as impressive, featuring an expanded pro shop and the opening of Terrazza 19, a stylish new onsite restaurant.
Grande Dunes is playable for all skill levels, with six sets of tees, wide fairways, and large, rolling greens.
Among many scenic moments, the par-3 14th hole stands out. With an elevated tee shot to a green beside the Waterway, it’s one of South Carolina’s finest short holes. Water also comes into play on holes 8, 9, 10, and 15. But even the inland holes offer strong design. They test creativity, demand shot variety, and reward bold play.
“From the time you pull up to drop your clubs off, the staff couldn’t be friendlier. Course is kept in incredible condition and is very challenging. Definitely booking here again on my next trip down.”

“Immaculate. Difficult but playable. Very good instructors on site. Nice bar! One of the nicest courses in the area, even if less known. Highly recommend!”
